Qué (quién) es systematic bias - definición

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MEASURED QUANTITY VALUE AND A REFERENCE QUANTITY VALUE
ObservationalError; Measurement error; Experimental error; Systematic bias; Random error; Systematic error; Systemic error; Alleged systemic bias; Random errors; Systematic errors; Measurement errors; Observational Error; Systematic effect; Chance error; Accidental error; Constant error; Stochastic error; Observation error; Systematic and random error; Systematic and random errors; Random and systematic errors; Measurement Error

Bias of an estimator
EXPECTATION OF ERROR OF ESTIMATION
Unbiased estimator; Biased estimator; Estimator bias; Unbiased estimate; Unbiasedness
In statistics, the bias of an estimator (or bias function) is the difference between this estimator's expected value and the true value of the parameter being estimated. An estimator or decision rule with zero bias is called unbiased.
Survivorship bias
  • Framed quotes of successful CEOs in a public library
LOGICAL ERROR OF CONCENTRATING ON THE PEOPLE OR THINGS THAT MADE IT PAST SOME SELECTION PROCESS AND OVERLOOKING THOSE THAT DID NOT, TYPICALLY BECAUSE OF THE LATTER'S LACK OF VISIBILITY
Survivor bias; Survivor's bias; Survival bias; Immortal time bias; Survivorship biases
Survivorship bias, survival bias or immortal time bias is the logical error of concentrating on the people or things that made it past some selection process and overlooking those that did not, typically because of their lack of visibility. This can lead to incorrect conclusions regarding that which (or those who) didn't make it.
Media bias
BIAS WITHIN THE MASS MEDIA
Liberal media bias; Liberal bias; Progressive bias; Conservative bias; Liberal media; Conservative media; Journalistic bias; Media machine; Media Bias; Web bias; Internet bias; Media coverage; News bias; Western media bias; Press bias; Conservative media bias; Media-bias; Religious bias in mass media; Bias in the news media; Bias in news media; Bias in news reporting; Front-end/back-end disproportionality; Biased journalism; Partisan journalism; Bias in journalism; Biased news; Political bias in news media; Political bias in news coverage; Ideological bias in the media; Partisan bias in the media; Ideological bias in media coverage; Political bias in journalism; Right-wing media; Social media bias; Partisan reporting
Media bias is the bias of journalists and news producers within the mass media in the selection of many events and stories that are reported and how they are covered. The term "media bias" implies a pervasive or widespread bias contravening of the standards of journalism, rather than the perspective of an individual journalist or article.

Observational error

Observational error (or measurement error) is the difference between a measured value of a quantity and its true value. In statistics, an error is not necessarily a "mistake". Variability is an inherent part of the results of measurements and of the measurement process.

Measurement errors can be divided into two components: random and systematic.Random errors are errors in measurement that lead to measurable values being inconsistent when repeated measurements of a constant attribute or quantity are taken. Systematic errors are errors that are not determined by chance but are introduced by repeatable processes inherent to the system. Systematic error may also refer to an error with a non-zero mean, the effect of which is not reduced when observations are averaged.

Measurement errors can be summarized in terms of accuracy and precision. Measurement error should not be confused with measurement uncertainty.

1. They suggested specific ways of improving output, but neither discovered evidence of systematic bias.
2. While some Labour seats have worse poverty and deprivation, the Tories say the extraordinary correlation found by the study suggests systematic bias.
3. In May an independent study of the BBC‘s Arab–Israeli coverage by Sir Quentin Thomas, decided there was ‘little to suggest deliberate or systematic bias, but concluded that if there was any, then the BBC implicitly favoured the Israeli side because it gave greater coverage to deaths in Israel than of Palestinian fatalities.
